Default Stuttgart gig

Two words:
F U C K I N G amazing!!!

This was my fifth Damien gig this year (and ever) and it was definitely the best. Don't ask me why, cause I can't really tell. I just know that the whole band rocked as hell and they all really really seemed to have a good time. All except Damo that is, because he truly seemed to be incredibly tired and exhausted. Didn't talk much, but still: absolutely brilliant show.

Setlist: (from memory, but it should be right...more or less)

Delicate
Volcano (one of the highlights, as always...) >>>
Me, My Yoke + I ("you do not need me" still playing over and over in the background, Damo playing the Rhodes during the first verse, truly amazing version)
Cross-Eyed Bear
Story about sitting on the edge of a cliff and wanting to be a bird...>>>
Amie (this time in the right key )
Rootless Tree (very delicate piano version, he was almost whispering the **** you's)
Dogs
Random Man on the Motorway (even more hilarious than usual, the audience (and Shane!!!) seemed to have a lot of fun)
Cannonball
Coconut Skins >>> Percussion Jam (with Vyv being her hilarious self again and really really cool lighting effects)>>>
Woman Like A Man (for me still the best Damo song EVER!)
Grey Room
I Remember >>> Bang Bang (longer than usual; don't know if he improvised the lyrics or if they belonged to another song, but the Bang Bang part was much longer than I've ever heard it before; something about "pointing at me" and "... in the sky", can't really remember)
---ENCORE---
Intro about Aung San Suu Kyi >>>
Unplayed Piano
The Blower's Daughter
9 Crimes
Sleep, don't weep (with the whole crew)

BTW, I love what Joel brings to the band. And I'm not (only ) talking about the good looks. I really, really enjoyed his guitar parts. And he smiled at me.

Would have loved to stay and wait for some time to talk to Joel and/or Shane or Damo, but my friends needed to get home. I got to meet Vyvienne though, when she signed stuff after the show. Such a sweet, sweet person.
I still can't believe that this was my last Damo gig this year. I'm Sad. Happy Sad.

I really, really hope Chrysler was able to sneak in his recording equipment. I just NEED to have a bootleg of this. Incredible night.

well ok. First - i did make a recording. The sound in this location however was far worse than in dresden. So to make it short this recording will turn out a lot badder than the dresden one. However i liked how intimate the gig was (you could easily go to the very front). This also was my fifth time Damien this year (Cologne > Munich > Paris 1st night > Dresden > Stuttgart) - the best gig was the cologne one in my opinion - for for he had the best setlist (cross-eyed bear, creep, rat within the rain to only mention a few) and was of better mood and lisa was still with them :_(.

I know what you mean about Joel, Lin@! He totally blew me away in Rome!
It's great you had such an amazing time!
Hope I'll be able to listen to that version of Me, my yoke... sounds absolutely awesome!

I'm glad Damien will be able to get some rest soon... he did a scary number of gigs these last weeks.

Chrysler, you're the best!

Btw, I was at the Cologne gig as well and I agree, the setlist was definitely better. Especially "Rat Within the Grain", "Animals..." & "Is that it my Friend" were awesome. Still liked yesterday's show better, though. I guess it was exactly BECAUSE they played songs that weren't my favorites, but still managed to blow me away.

Anyway, can't wait to listen to the recording.
The quality of the Dresden gig was great!
