I just bought myself an early christmas gift. The recording of Swell seasons gig in Gothenburg from playedlastnight.com. Brilliant! Glen tells depressing stories about all the songs. Very funny.

i was at the cinema tonight with my brother and my boyfriend... it was quite funny! afterwards we went back to the pub and there came this guy in again, as he sometimes does, trying to sell some of them small pet toy things to people with a little note that he's deaf, etc.... so i thought i'll try it out and started a small conversation with him in sign language. and he actually understood me! and i understood him! i was so proud of myself... i just started to learn it some time in october. so that was really kewl!

^that's great! You seem to be making quite some progress on this sign language front then.

I had some nice experiences with sellers in bars too... A while ago we went into this bar at around noon to have some beers with two other guys working for the school, just to wait out the time the teachers had a meeting before the big last day party, and then an Arabic guy came in with a big bag of clothes trying to sell some jeans and santa-hats and after a while he and the barman were debating which of them was the more homosexual. Then he left and a black guy came in selling some cd's and after he was greeted as the Arab's gay lover (a joke he didn't seem to grasp) and failing to sell any merchandise to us, he went away.
