Couldn't find a site with a list of songs with that one on it, eh? Well, hmm. Oh I know. There's this new relatively obscure search enginesite called "google" you might wanna try that. It makes finding stuff like that a tadeasier. I just typed in the wordsDamien Rice Baby Sister and got nine pages of results. OK seriously though. Yeah, it's his songalthough theguitarinit is basically stolen from one of Damo's favorite songs: Leonard Cohen's "Famous Blue Raincoat". Still a verypowerful and moving song about physicalabuse . |

you want sarcasm - you want to go over to the efestivals forum on the the V festival section. THey are such w**kers and have sent me loads of threatening pm's cause i like damo!!!
It annoys me to read the posts when they say that he is sh*t I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but it's annoying because it is a fact that damo is good he just might not please everyone certainly pleases me! sorry for that short rant there fellow eskimos |

ok will do fair do's is a bit long!
THis is what one person said about Damo: "damien 'david gray' rice anyone?. No thanks jamie cullum, katie melua, amy winehouse, damien rice. When will the nightmare end (apart from katie melua )" Someone's reply to someone saying Damo is good! "QUOTE (MrNutz @ May 12 2004, 10:55 AM) QUOTE (Kinky Mcdoogle @ May 9 2004, 01:14 PM) damien 'david gray' rice anyone?. No thanks jamie cullum, katie melua, amy winehouse, damien rice. When will the nightmare end (apart from katie melua) You can't compare Damien Rice and David Gray. Damien Rice's album 'O' is incredible, and he's done some amazing live stuff. David Gray, on the other hand...is rubbish. Not much difference really is there? They're both fairly depressing" "damion rice, i bought his album after one of my mates got it and raved on about it and i heard cannonball which is a great track but the rest of its just sh*te. i wont make much fuss to see him " "the name damien rice bores me 2 tears " I CAN@T BELIEVE PEOPLE THINK THIS w**ker's!

so this is what i said!
i think you guys wanna open your eyes a bit more. Damien Rice isd a fantastic artist. I think he is fantastic Festival material. YOu lot saying he isn't have obviously never seen him live??? He is one of the heaviest and most beautiful artists i have ever seen. When damo uses his distortian pedal and mic he f**king goes!!!! Get some of his live stuff then you will be able to see. Trust me. He is one of the artists who has a lot about him. And to compare him to David Gray is probably one of the stupidest things i have ever heard of. David Gray = mainstream, mediocre Damien Rice = quite alternative and something completely different to David gray So please i'm not one of these twats condoning everyones opinions I'm just stating information people don't know thanks

i so disagree with that! to me david gray is superb and has had life-saving effects to me at times. i guess 'white ladder' and 'a new day at midnight' could sound mediocre or mainstream to some - his older work is more rugged and definately compareable with damien's work, i think. still, i love all he does and there's a great and deep meaning in his words and his voice to me. so the point being: to each his/her own. i could claim that all who dislike dave are wrong, but basically it's just a matter of personal taste and not worth fighting over. (oh, but ppl sending you threatening mails because of your musical preferences is just shocking! whatever is going through ppl's heads??!)Edited by: supercille

yeah, i am really sorry about the feedback you got, dylan - really, i haven't experienced such here before; usually you can ask any question here and ppl will kindly reply to it. i often ask ppl here questions, that i could probably google instead, but it's just more interesting to ask other eskimos - there may even come a discussion out of; i have never experienced that with google...basically the old phrase is true, banal or not: there are no bad questions, only bad answers... and yeah, baby sister is absolutely fantastic, isn't it?

hey supercille
i love david gray too. i have seen him twice and have both albums. It may sound then that ia'm contradicting myself. But David Gray in comparision to Damien Rice is more mainstream. But don't get me wrong i love David and Damien!!on that forum they were dissing both of them! started to really piss me off!
