Lisa to open for Snow Patrol at Ward Park (June 5)
Looks like tomorrow June 5, Lisa will be opening for Snow Patrol at their Ward Park super gig Anyone going???
(from Snow Patrol FB) Saturday 5th June at 7.15pm Our first profile for Ward Park and the artist choose to take to the Bangor stage just ahead of Snow Patrol will be Irish singer songwriter Lisa Hannigan. Releasing her debut album in 2009, ‘Sea Saw’ bought Lisa critical acclaim from all sections of Irish and British media and led to nomi nations at last years Mercury Music Prize in the UK, Meteor Music Award in Ireland and picking up several awards in the Hot Press Readers Poll 2009. What SP have to say?? “As far as i'm concerned Lisa is the greatest Irish singer of her generation and one of the very purest and finest voices of all time. watch out for the song Lille, it is perfectly devastating and could melt the hard of an army sergeant-major.” Gary Lightbody Where to start?? As Gary says check out the video for Lille below, also we’re added the first single from Sea Saw ‘I Don’t Know’, as well as ‘Some Surprise’, which is a duet featuring Gary and Lisa for the 2007 charity album ‘The Cake Sale’.

I'm not going, but as I said in a previous thread I'll have plenty of friend there reporting. With a crowd of 40,000 there's bound to be a few new videos on youtube! She's the main headliner and I'm guessing she'll come out and sing Setfire3rdbar with the band. Also, BBC NI are doing a special show on the snow patrol gig, then one for the support acts

Lovely indeed!
I think her new hair makes her look more womanly and less girlish (if these are real words anyway...) and I think it suits her really well. She's grown so strong and self confident since she put Sea Sew out and toured the world with her own material so maybe she shows it that way...? Thanks for the pictures anyway! And I wanna hear her new stuff!!!

"A Sail" is a new song indeed, yet the title seems familiar to me... Like it's one of those songs that don't have an "official" title so it might be a song that we've heard but that we can't identify by its title...
I really would like to hear the new cover, Lisa's so good at covers!

thanks for the info, links, vids and pics guys!
about the hair cut... good for her if she wanted to do it. it may sound shallow, but hair cut it´s quite of a change sometimes (according to my female friends). i don´t like it that much, but i applaud her and i love her dress, of course. nice colour.

Thanks!
I really wish the person who filmed this would have filmed the whole band, we still don't know who the new drummer is!

Great find! The second show in the series screens tonight, focusing on the support acts for Snow Patrol. Judging by the first one then I'm guessing there will be an interview with Lisa and at least a song, hence allowing us to see the identity of the new drummer

Actually it had already been broadcasted, guessing that's why set the fire had surfaced.
Lisa played Lille, as always the drummer stands at the xylophone and wasn't in shot at all. Looked to be quite a mousey looking young guy. Can't really speculate much more than that. There was an interview and Lisa was asked if she had a similar homecoming gig what would it be like. Lisa said that it wouldn't be on the same scale and she'd like it to be on a garden lawn in Baltimore, West Cork. The bill would include Snow Patrol, The Frames and Nina Simone. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...ive_Episode_2/ |

Here's a vid of Lisa performing Venn Diagram:
The video quality is ridiculous but the audio quality is ok.
