Exclamation The full lyrics of "Accidental Babies"

Yep, your favorite Damo transcriber's back, kids! This one was rather tough in a few choice spots where his volume or diction drops down but I persevered 'til I got it right. If someone has a different recording than the recent Paris show you might check it with yours to see if it's any clearer there.

Well I held you like a lover:
Happy hands
And elbow in the appropriate place.

And we ignore our others
Happy plans
With a delicate cup upon your face.

A mind crystal hardened
Hurting parts of your garden
With no room for a pardon
In a place where no one knows
What we have done.

Do you cum?
Together ever with him?
Is he dark enough?
Enough to see your light?
Do you brush your teeth before you kiss?
Do you miss my smell?
And is he bold enough to take you on?
Do you feel like you belong?
And does he drive you wild?
Or just mildly free?

What about me?

Well you held me like a lover:
Sweaty hands
And my foot in the appropriate place.

And we use cushions to cover
Happy glands
In mild issue of our disgrace.

Our bodies pressed and hovered
Turning our desire in
With no room for a pardon
In a place where no one knows
What we have done.

Well I know I make you cry
And I know sometimes you wanna die
But do you really feel alive
without me?
If so: be free
If not: leave him for me
Before one of us has accidental babies.

We aren't free.

Do you cum?
Together ever with him?
Is he dark enough?
Enough to see your light?
Do you brush your teeth before you kiss?
Do you miss my smell?
Is he bold enough to take you on?
Do you feel like you belong?
And does he drive you wild?
Or just mildly free?

What about me?
What about me?
What about...?

Well, the way I understand it, it was originally a kind of "present" for those at the HMV show....he asked not to circulate it before the new album...but at the time we thought that it would be released early 05. And since he's been playing it at recent shows I guess he doesn't mind people hearing it. Just a theory.

For me, it was more a case of already having heard the song (in Paris) and so the surprise or whatever was no longer relevant....I know what it sounds like, why not listen to it. I dunno, I'm rambling....

Sistah,

Do you have a different version of it? If so would you mind sending it to me so I can take a better informed listen?

He's definitely not singing the word "look" in the Paris show unless he's dyslexic! lol

If the word "cup" seems an odd choice to others as it initially did to me, try considering it this way: I think the cup actually refers to one of those 'happy hands', either hers or his, being gently placed over her mouth to suppress a laugh/smile.

Silent Night,

When sung aloud, the ambiguity of which spelling of "come" Damo intends until the next line plays beautifully. However, since the words "together" and "ever" are used in conjunction with the phrase "with him" and there's no where mentioned, it's clearly about whether they climax together. Also, several of the lines in this song clearly echo certain passages of dialogue in "Closer" (the film it was written for) and in one of the scenes Larry asks Anna that quetion I believe choosing the sexual spelling is warranted especially since this is a song about an affair and how jealous one man is of the other.

it's "delicate look upon your face" in Paris version that i hear.
i haven't heard of any other version yet.
i still think it's "come", but that would take the spice out of the song. so it would be "come" only for my ears. after all, i don't need to insist my version of lyrics, you don't have to insist yours. in fact i hope it was in Finnish. the tender sound of piano and his voice are enough to move me.

i never had Closer in my mind when i was listening to this song.

I'm not saying anything negative about this song, i love it, i've never heard another similar ones like this from damien. it's one of his most beautiful songs. i just want to say that everyone has own interpretation of the songs that we love according to our own life experiences. trying hard to figure out the words is only trying to know better about the writers story behind of the song, which we don't have to agree and go along with. sometime time it is painful to go along with Damien's words. so i'd rather take in his mood and emotions, so Finnish would be fine with me.

but thanks for the transcrip

just to clear any confusion. ''accidental babies'' is NOT the same as the song "closer". "closer" was written for the movie of the same title, "accidental babies" was not. i have heard both. "closer" features a full band and is similar to a more pop-like "tongue" while "accidental babies" is a tear jerking song of betrayal. totally different. thanks.

I had heard there was another song called "Closer" which I think he wrote for one of the strip club scenes. Glad to hear it actually exists! Anyone who has it and pms/sends it to me will have my eternal devotion and thanks.

However, I am almost positive I heard or read Damo say in an interview that "AB" was written for the film too. Anyone else remember reading that?
