Oh baby.. new album thread
This is hardly different from the old thread, so while you are voting,
talk about what tracks youd like to see on the new record, and what you would call it. |

I'm going for July.
The album would be cool if it had about 20+ tracks on there! Full electric guitar and full band versions of songs like Woman Like A Man would be cool. I heard from a friend of his a few months ago that this new album is going to be one huge shock. Even his biggest fans will not be expecting what he is going to come through with. So... im excited.

i said 2007.. just being pessimistic.. i would call it "p".. nah only kidding, i dunno, whatever he feels like i guess. i'd like to hear a damien and glen version of "leave" and i'd like the rest of the album to be songs nobody's ever, ever heard before.

The reason we all love Damien though is because he is a great songwriter. We have been waiting so long for his new album to see how his songwriting has progressed and what his new songs are like. Not to see how well he can play cover versions! Would you not agree? A cover version would be the last thing I'd wanna see on Damien's second album.

May/June...
not because a lot of people voted for those months, and we only talk about may/june...JUNE IS MY B.DAY!! although i know i´ll get in way way later than that, if it gets to Colombia, if not i´ll probably tell one of my cousins or friends to bring it for me from the states.

Ive gone with July myself... seems like a good month.
In terms of songs for the album I hope its all stuff ive never heard. Not that there is anything wrong with track like Insane or The Proffesor, I just consider them old material at this stage. Though I wouldnt complain about nine crimes being on there seeing as I cant get an audio file of it anywhere...!

isn't Damien under some kinda bigger label now? If so, they don't release big albums in summer as noone is buying them then. I'd say maybe November. Deffo not sooner.

Edit: Oh and Trey Anastatio's new album is great! It's not really like Phish at all. Much more structurized, and less improv soloing, so you guys should like it then. It's called Shine, and I am buying it next friday. Last edited by Ranting Thespian; 01-24-2006 at 10:58 PM. |

i voted april 2058. only because "never" wasnt an option.
he should release a best of album. we all want new songs, but you have got to love a cover, says so much about a musician dont you think? i saw damo here in oct 2004, he finished off with a cover of hallelujah, i cried like a little girl. also i love the cover of "when doves cry" he recorded when he was out here. plus i love jeff buckley and he loved his covers. so yeh. bye -mic xoxo |
