In the latest issue of Q magazine there is a feature on 1010 songs you must hear. Katie Melua selects “The Blower’s Daughter” and comments – “This track is so gorgeous. I’m amazed he can get away with saying the line “I can’t take my eyes off you” four times without souding corny, but somehow he does! I love the way Damien Rice has become successful on his own terms – he’s a real original. I love the emotion he invests in his songs, and this one, especially, is so simple and spare. It’s completely wonderful.”
