David Cheal, of the Telegraph newspaper in the UK, mentions Damien in his review of the best gigs of 2007:
Earlier in the year I saw, for the first time, why people rave about Damien Rice’s live shows: I was transfixed by this feverish Irishman, whose songs flowed over with woe and despair but who made it all sound enthralling and even uplifting. The acoustic songs that formed the core of the show were done with absolute conviction. Rice has since progressed to the lucrative arena circuit; good luck to him, but I shall miss being able to watch him perform at more compact venues.
