Damien and Bono at Electric Burma

Last night Damien performed at the "Electric Burma" concert in Dublin to celebrate Burmese democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi. Aung San Suu Kyi was in attendance and was presented with the Amnesty International Ambassador of Conscience Award. Damien was joined by Vyvienne Long to perform two of his own songs - "The Blower's Daughter" and "Unplayed Piano". [Sorry I was asked to remove the videos.] At the end of the night, Damien joined Bono on stage for renditions of U2's "Walk On" and "One", before being joined by the rest of the night's performers to play songs such as "I Shall Be Released" and "Get Up, Stand Up". [Sorry I was asked to remove the videos.] All proceed from the concert went to Amnesty International and Aung San Suu Kyi's own foundation.

“Electric Burma” Gig in Dublin on 18 June

Burma's opposition leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, will be visiting Dublin on 18 June as part of her first overseas trip since she was released from house arrest. As part of her visit there will be a concert in her honour at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, with Damien and Bono amongst some of the performers. The concert, named "Electric Burma", starts at 4.45 PM, which means attendees will be able to leave on time to see Ireland defeat Italy at Euro 2012 later that night. As you know, Damien has been very active in his support of the Action Burma campaign and released the song "Unplayed Piano" in her honour. Update 1: Tickets sold out within 2 hours. Update 2: Damien will be joined on stage by Vyvienne Long.

Damiend Added to Hop Farm Festival Line-Up

Taking place at Paddock Wood in Kent from 29 June - 1 July, the festival also includes performances by Bob Dylan, Suede, Peter Gabriel, Primal Scream, My Morning Jacket and many more.
